While the world faces a global pandemic crisis, health workers are saving us from the brink of collapse. Their selfless dedication to saving lives is a heroic act that we should all acknowledge. As they say, something good comes out of every crisis, and it is apparent that great leaders led the way. One of those who deserve the world’s recognition is Ms. Lubna Naeem. She is the Head of Operations & Business Development at Gargash Hospital in Dubai, the U.A.E.

Being responsible for several healthcare workers who are overwhelmed, if not plagued by anxiety, burnout, and illnesses even demise, things can quickly go out of hand. However, as a compassionate leader, she used her passion and empathy to stay top of things. Indeed, she is an amazing woman who acted in exceptional circumstances.

Originally from India, Lubna Naeem is a Pharmacy professional from Jamia Hamdard University. She has topped her class and was awarded the same on a state level by Delhi Pharmacy Council. She has also received training from the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (A.I.I.M.S.), one of the biggest semi-government hospitals in India. Her competencies with hospital operations, strategic planning, partnerships, business development, and customer/patient care management set her apart from others in the same industry, making her rise to the moment. Her courage to not back down with the challenges and be accountable on all fronts has paid off. Now, she has gained respect and attention more than ever.

As per her colleagues, she is a highly motivated individual with a positive and goal-oriented outlook. She has an analytical approach and is quite experienced in conceptualization. She has a proven ability to build and lead effective teams, which we cannot say to many during tough times like a crisis.

Because of her remarkable leadership, Ms. Lubna Naeem was also nominated as Distinguished Woman in Healthcare for the Annual Health Awards for two consecutive years (2018 & 2019), Dubai’s yearly gala event to recognize outstanding contributions and innovative brilliance of healthcare professionals and organizations, which Dubai Health Authority jointly organizes.

In 2020, she graced the editorial feature of The Changemakers publication as one of the Indian trailblazers making their mark globally. She was also the keynote speaker at the Global Women Empowerment Summit 2020 held in Dubai, the U.A.E. These recognitions defined her exceptional skills and professionalism in her field. Other hospitals noticed her strategies, and with proper staffing and the right equipment with the help of those workers valiantly fighting the outbreak, Lubna was able to pull off the unimaginable. Indeed, she can save more lives and defy the odds through effective leadership.
